A new rumor making the rounds online suggests that Daisy Ridley’s Rey Skywalker could play a role in the upcoming Star Wars: Starfighter project. While nothing has been confirmed by Lucasfilm, the speculation has already sparked plenty of conversation among fans.
According to reports circulating on social media and later picked up by Cosmic Book News, the story of Starfighter may revolve around Ryan Gosling’s character protecting the child of a female Jedi, rumored to be played by Amy Adams. The child, said to be Force-sensitive, is supposedly destined to be delivered to Rey.
If true, the setup would mirror The Mandalorian’s “child delivery” arc, where Din Djarin eventually brought Grogu to Luke Skywalker. The idea is that Rey could serve as the recipient of a new generation of Jedi — ensuring her role as a central figure in the saga’s future.

Despite the buzz, the rumor has raised eyebrows. The Cosmic Book News article itself remains doubtful, calling the potential plot “spinning this Rey garbage plot around.” Many fans online have expressed fatigue with Rey’s character being pushed into new projects, especially when there has been no official confirmation from Disney or Lucasfilm.
At this time, no casting announcements link Daisy Ridley to Starfighter, and neither Disney nor Lucasfilm has acknowledged Rey’s involvement.
Until Lucasfilm or Disney provides official confirmation, Rey’s involvement in Star Wars: Starfighter should be viewed strictly as speculation.
